Troop Election – Wednesday Sept 20

Troop,

I completely missed looking at the calendar and noticing that elections are scheduled for this Wednesday, 20 September.

This Troop is run by leadership from the Scouts, if you want/desire an active well run Troop, take part in its leadership and run for a position of leadership or responsibility.  Read the first attachment to get an idea of the roles, responsibilities, and requirements for each position.  Scouts, talk to your parents about your desire to take a position of responsibility in your troop and fill out the second attachment, Leadership Position Application” get your parent to sign it and either scan it in and send it to me, or bring it with you to the next Troop meeting.  You will not be able to run for a position if I do not have an application prior to the election on 20 September.

I have attached the  merit badge worksheet for those of you who worked on the Fish and Wildlife merit badge last week. You have already completed requirements 1-5 and 8. The work sheet has convenient tables if you want to fill them out for the last two requirements.

First Meeting – Aug. 30/ First Outing Sept. 15

Scouts and Scouters,

I trust everyone had a great summer even if it did seem short.  There were certainly a lot of activities to take part in outdoors this summer. I have a lot of information in this first first week of school.

Welcome back to another year of Scouting.  Our first meeting is this Wednesday from 7:30-9:00p, in the Guadalupe room.  As is customary we ask that parents return by 8:45 so that they can hear announcements of upcoming activities before dismissal.

Our first camping trip is coming up in three short weeks, September 15th.  I ask that everyone who plans on attending make a commitment by the meeting on the 6th so that we can give a good count to our charter boat captain.  I have pasted the information for the campout below and attached the sign-up sheet.  Once again there is the ability to sign up and pay for the campout online at www.SignUpGenius.com/go/10C0D49AFAC23A3FA7-fishing

Scouts will be participating in fishing using Miss Grace Charters at 1:00pm on Saturday.  More information can be found at MissGraceCharters.com. August and September offer a variety of options. In a given day you can liveline, troll, jig and bottom fish. Is not uncommon to do a little of each. Live lining for rockfish is still going strong and catching Bluefish and Spanish mackerel by either trolling or jigging provide fast action.  The Troop will be staying at the Greenbelt National Park.  Close toed shoes are REQUIRED, long pants and a long sleeve shirt is recommended.  This trip is fall camping and each scout MUST dress and pack accordingly. Rain gear is mandatory.  Each Scout should also be prepared for whatever weather we may encounter, and pack accordingly.

Fishing Consent Sept 2017

Cost is $80.00 per person, $50 for Scouters/fishermen. Fee MUST be paid by 13/SEP/2017!!

Alex B Eagle Project – July 8

Hello all, my Eagle project will be this Saturday, July 8th at 9:00 AM at Van Dyck Park. We will be building and painting three American flag collection boxes, which will be placed at local community spots.
Breakfast will be provided, and lunch as well if we run into the afternoon. Work will include assembling the boxes, using screwdrivers, and painting using spray paint. Please bring close toed shoes and work clothes. This is an excellent opportunity for some service hours, and if you have any friends who are in need of some I encourage you to bring them.
Thank you, and I will see you on Saturday.
Regards,
Alex B
