After discussion at Sunday’s committee meeting, it was decided to remove the biking activity and concentrate on Scout skills during this campout. This decision has drastically reduced the cost, and as such, I am putting out a new call for the campout along with a new consent form. Scouts will be advancing in Scout skills while camping in the Rocky Gap Maryland State Park. Close-toed shoes are REQUIRED, long pants and a long sleeve shirt is recommended. This trip is spring camping, and each scout MUST dress and pack accordingly. Rain gear is mandatory. Each Scout should also be prepared for whatever weather we may encounter, and pack accordingly.
Cost is $50.00 per Scout. Fee MUST be paid by 16/May/2018
Cost of the trip includes the amusement park fees. Bring funds for lunch and dinner at the park. The park has 17 Thrill rides, 14 family rides, water park, live entertainment, dining and more. Tonight’s meeting is a great opportunity to make a payment for summer camp as well. Final payment is due 15 May 2018
Elections are scheduled for tonight, Wednesday, 14 March. This Troop is run by leadership from the Scouts, if you want/desire an active well run Troop, take part in its leadership and run for a position of leadership or responsibility. Read the first attachment to get an idea of the roles, responsibilities, and requirements for each position. Scouts, talk to your parents about your desire to take a position of responsibility in your troop and fill out the second attachment, Leadership Position Application” get your parent to sign it and either scan it in and send it to me or bring it with you to the next Troop meeting. You will not be able to run for a position if I do not have an application prior to the election on 14 March.
Scouts will be participating in The Silver Spring Adventure Park climbing on Saturday morning, March 17, 2018. We meet in the St. Leo’s parking lot at 8:00 AM. Cost of the trip includes the climbing fees. The park has 13 courses of varying degrees of challenge; 3 yellow, 4 green, 2 blue, 1 black diamond and 1 double black diamond.
