Sign up for Merit Badge Day by December 18, 2017

Troop 1113 Scouts,

We have an opportunity on Saturday, March 3, 2018 to take up to two merit badges (one Eagle required and one elective) at the first annual George Mason District Merit Badge Day.  The Day will be held (indoors!) at Fairfax Presbyterian Church.

The deadline to sign up for the merit badge(s) you want to take is December 18, 2017.
The reason for the December 18 deadline is that we need to map counselors and Scouts to courses and then get Scouts the pre-work needed to give you a good chance to meet all the requirements and leave the Merit Badge Day with a fully-signed blue card.
To sign up for a merit badge, see Assistant Scoutmaster Matt Burns at next week’s Scout meeting or send him an e-mail at “burnsmj509@gmail.com.”
The attached flyer has more information about the District Merit Badge Day and a list of the merit badges that will be offered.

Alex B Eagle Project – July 8

Hello all, my Eagle project will be this Saturday, July 8th at 9:00 AM at Van Dyck Park. We will be building and painting three American flag collection boxes, which will be placed at local community spots.
Breakfast will be provided, and lunch as well if we run into the afternoon. Work will include assembling the boxes, using screwdrivers, and painting using spray paint. Please bring close toed shoes and work clothes. This is an excellent opportunity for some service hours, and if you have any friends who are in need of some I encourage you to bring them.
Thank you, and I will see you on Saturday.
Regards,
Alex B

Thank You message for Nick M’s Eagle Scout Project Assistance

To the Scouts of Troop 1113:
Thanks to all who helped on my Eagle Scout project building a pickle ball equipment enclosure for the Green Acres Senior Center. The project was completed on time with a great result thanks to all of you who helped. Without your help, the project could not have been completed as well as it was, let alone completed at all. The Fairfax Parks and Recreation department and the senior center are very appreciative. Thanks again for all of your hard work, and have a great summer.
Regards,
Nick M
